If you are into video games, manga and cool vector illustrations… You will definitely love Capitán Tanaka’s artwork! He is an accomplished illustrator based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. CT’s work spans in so many different markets including video games, books, advertising, stationery and more! The reason why his illustrations have been featured by major clients like Fibertel, Missing children and Direct TV is simple. He can clearly create fresh and colorful pieces that will catch your eye! Do you still want to know more about his work? Here is a little interview:
Q: Has art and illustration always been constant to you?
A: I guess that the desire and the need to draw and express myself through pen and paper has been always inside me. When I was a teen, I didn't take it too seriously… But as I grew up... It became a total necessity to draw some lines everyday. Whatever comes to my mind… I just set my head free and draw something.
Q: Where do your find your inspiration?
A: Inspiration is everywhere. Whatever moves my imagination forward and fuel that flame to create. Video-games, music, films, classic art, life itself... Oh! and all those extremely talented people around the internet. (I love/hate them a lot hahaha)
Q: When you are not drawing, what do you love to do?
A: I love to play a lot of video games... Especially the retro and classic games that I used to play as a kid. (I’m a pretty nostalgic folk) I also love reading comics and manga and collecting figures and toys. I guess I’m a standard geek.
Q: Is there any advice you would like to give to all illustrators out there?
A: If someone, someday, asks for my advice, I will surely say something like: "Keep drawing and doing what you love no matter what. Accept the criticism over your work, no matter if it's good or bad, take it as it is. Make mistakes, a lot of them. And keep moving forward"
